"This is Matt. He is a Roseate Tern. He has worked in insurance for eight years since he graduated but has always had great ambitions to be a writer. After tiring of his own repeated and unfulfilled statements that he would complete his first novel "by the end of this year", and wearying of the routine of the 9-5, the yearning for creative freedom was finally so strong that he quit his job to focus on becoming a successful writer full time. It is not going well. Matt always believed he had some talent but now, faced with a blank page and the opportunity to prove himself, he is not sure if there will ever be a novel. He tells people he is loving his creative life but the truth is he has an unbearable writer's block and spends most of his days eating snacks and re-arranging furniture in his nest. When people ask what his novel is about he says "it's a sort of philosophical and emotional journey exploring what it really means to be a bird", but he hasn't written anything yet and he isn't really sure what his novel is about. He is afraid of being found out."
