MONOPRINTING
ON PAPER/FABRIC
Monoprinting sessions are an accessible and creative way to experiment with printmaking. These sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities. There are different approaches to monoprinting which can be explored, but the simplest is trace monoprinting, in which participants simply trace an image, text or photograph to create a print. Prompts can be provided to initiate responses on particular themes relevant to your group or event, or simply to give ideas to get you started.
The sessions are fun, interesting and explorative, and can be great as a simple, creative activity for groups, but if your group has particular themes that would be beneficial to consider, monoprinting can be used to explore ideas around memory, bereavement/loss, pattern, identity, and nostalgia.
