Having grown up in rural East Yorkshire at the foot of the Wolds, nature has been a huge influence on Mim's life and art. Working with nature has been a theme in her artwork since her teens, and has become more central to her work over the years. Inspired by land artists such as Andy Goldsworthy, Nils Udo, Richard Shilling, Sebastien Preschoux and many others, Mim's land art is constantly developing as the environment and resources available to work with change from day to day. This is the beauty of land art, that it cannot be heavily pre-empted or planned, that some seasons seem rich in resources whilst others require more investigation. Searching for and finding new colours and textures is a reminder of how much nature offers us throughout the year.

Mim takes record of her land art by photographing them, occasionally returning later to photograph the changes that have taken place over time.
