ECOPRINTING
ON PAPER/FABRIC
Ecoprinting sessions are a lovely, experimental and colourful way to spend some time connecting to nature and being mindful. These sessions are suitable for all ages and abilities. Participants will collect leaves, flowers and berries which can then be laid out onto paper or fabric in patterns or randomly, before tightly binding the paper/fabric up with string and boiling in water. The outcomes are beautiful and unpredictable, with leaves creating prints in various colours, participants can also use iron and other mordants to play with the colour and print. Unravelling the bound pieces at the end is always exciting and joyful!
The sessions are fun, playful and explorative, and can be great as a vibrant, creative activity for groups, but if your group has particular themes that would be beneficial to consider, ecoprinting can be used to explore ideas around mindfulness, pattern, colour, nature-connection, harvest, seasons and memory.
